About Series

In an era driven by real-time technology, generative AI, and complex organizational demands, clarity is no longer about writing longer documents. It is about making multivariable systems visible, testing assumptions early, and aligning cross-disciplinary teams.

Drawing on advanced methodologies from real-time game design, spatial pedagogy, visual system modeling, and virtual production pipelines, this three-part working series helps leaders translate complex challenges into actionable, evidence-based decisions.

No software, drawing, or technical prerequisites required. The focus remains strictly on professional judgement, systems awareness, and disciplined execution.

Design Thinking via Game Design Loops and Greyboxing

 Move from an ambiguous professional topic to a rigorously defined challenge. Using game design principles such as core interaction loops, player agency, and friction analysis, participants define human-centred problem boundaries and testable options.

Key Capabilities: Human-centred challenge framing, evidence versus assumption mapping, and low-cost paper greyboxing.

Executive Output: A clear challenge brief, three distinct options, a low-fidelity greybox prototype, and a primary test question.

Lab 2 | MAP: Making Complexity Visible

Spatial Systems Mapping, Node-Based Logic and Iterative System Modelling (ISM)

Escape the logocentric trap of single-file written text. Learn to represent multivariable operational networks using node-based spatial logic. Participants map relationships, dependencies, and feedback loops, then subject their system to the EduThinkering Break Test to reveal hidden vulnerabilities before commitment.

  • Key Capabilities: Node-based system architecture, dependency mapping, constraint analysis, and stress-testing under simulated chaos.

The Virtual Production Mindset, Previsualisation (Previz) and Parallel Workflows

Traditional waterfall management fixes errors late, incurring substantial rework costs. Virtual production replaces sequential pipelines with real-time parallel collaboration and previsualisation. In this lab, participants re-architect decision pathways to move critical reviews upstream, establishing evidence gates and bounded experiments.

  • Key Capabilities: Upstream previsualisation logic, decision gate design, risk governance, and disciplined 30-day experiment design.
  • Executive Output: An early-decision workflow, structured review gates, a risk control framework, and a bounded 30-day implementation experiment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need technical or design experience?

No. The laboratories develop professional judgement, systems awareness and practical experimentation. No software, drawing, filmmaking or AI expertise is required.

Must I attend all three laboratories?

You may purchase an individual laboratory, but the series pass is the primary offer because one challenge develops across all three stages. Standalone participants receive a short entry brief.

What kind of challenge should I bring?

Bring a current professional opportunity, workflow, programme, service, learning experience, project or organisational decision. Remove confidential, personal and security-sensitive information.

Is this a software-training course?

No. Relevant examples may draw from AI, simulation, visualisation and virtual production, but the laboratories are method-led and do not teach a software package.

What recognition is provided?

Participants who meet the stated participation requirements may receive an EduThinkering Certificate of Participation. It does not imply accreditation, ECTS credit, professional licensure or a Virtual Production Dojo qualification.

Can my employer pay?

Yes. EduThinkering can provide payment details and booking documentation for an employer-sponsored place. A three-person employer pack is also available.

Can the series be delivered privately?

Yes. A private three-laboratory organisational series is available from NOK 36,000 for up to eight participants, excluding external venue and travel costs where applicable.
